Srinagar, May 20 (KB): Police and army’s 8RR, on Friday, seized huge quantity of Heroin like substance worth 18 to 20 Crores value in black market, from Uri area of District Baramullah officials said.
Police spokesperson as per Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), said that today during naka checking by police under the supervision of Sh. Junaid Wali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Sh. Dheeraj Kumar DySP Prob, SHO PS Uri & officers of 8 RR at PVCP 2(Galla) Uri. One vehicle bearing registration number JK01AK 2765 driven by Mohammad Zaid Shah Geelani s/o Syed Hasaan Din Shah r/o Basgran Uri was stopped and checked at PVCP 2 on it’s search, 10 packets of contraband Heroin like substance weighing approximately 10 kg were recovered from the vehicle.
The spokesperson further said that “It came forth that the said person is a govt employee and is working in RDD and the value of contraband in black market is 18 to 20 crores”, they said.
Moreover, In this regard case FIR no 54/2022 under sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation taken up.”—(Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
