The accused has been identified as Bashir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Drer Kalipora Shopian, presently residing at Lammer Kulgam.
Police said he was wanted in FIR No. 237/1987 under Sections 366 and 376 of the Ranbir Penal Code.
According to police, the accused had remained absconding since 1987. Acting on specific inputs, a team from Police Station Budgam conducted a coordinated operation and apprehended him.
