School Timings Revised for Summer Season from May 1.

Jammu, Apr 29  The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Wednesday ordered a change in school timing for Summer Zone areas of Jammu Division, officials said.

According to an official order issued by the Director School Education Jammu, all Government as well as recognised private schools up to Higher Secondary level shall observe school timing from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The order states that the revised timing will come into effect from May 1, 2026 and will remain in force till September 30, 2026 across all Summer Zone districts.

Officials said the decision has been taken in view of seasonal requirements to ensure smooth academic functioning during the summer months.

The directive has been circulated to Deputy Commissioners, Chief Education Officers and other concerned authorities for strict compliance, while CEOs have further forwarded the order to all institutions for immediate implementation.
