Kishtwar, Apr 19: Three persons accidentally fell into river Chenab in Mughalmaidan area of Kishtwar district on Saturday, officials said.
Officials told that soon after the incident, police along with teams from SDRF rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to trace the victims.
During the operation, two women were successfully rescued and are reported to be safe, while a minor child lost his life in the incident, they said.
The circumstances leading to the incident were not immediately known, and authorities have initiated further inquiry.
Meanwhile, locals also joined the rescue efforts, assisting the teams during the operation.
