IGP Kashmir Reviews Security, Focus on Cordon Ops & Tourist Safety



April 17: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Shri V.K. Birdi-IPS chaired a security review meeting at PCR Kashmir to assess arrangements for upcoming events across the Valley.

The IGP directed officers to intensify cordon and search operations, especially in sensitive areas and along National Highways, to counter anti-national elements. He also stressed enhanced surveillance and area domination across districts.

Special emphasis was laid on securing prominent tourist destinations, with directions to strengthen security grids to ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors.

The meeting concluded with instructions to maintain high vigilance, strong coordination, and robust deployment to ensure peaceful conduct of all forthcoming events. (KB)
