Srinagar, June 20: Director SKIMS/EOSG Prof. M. Ashraf Ganie chaired a high-level preparedness meeting to review healthcare arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
The meeting focused on strengthening emergency response, critical care facilities, logistics, manpower deployment and availability of essential medicines to ensure timely medical assistance to pilgrims. Special emphasis was laid on the use of advanced Remote Patient Monitoring and 24x7 Telemedicine services for real-time specialist support and patient management.
Prof. Ganie also highlighted the importance of pre-Yatra medical screening and scientific documentation to enhance healthcare planning and reduce medical emergencies during the pilgrimage.
A dedicated Command Centre at SKIMS Casualty, along with security, transport, helipad readiness and emergency response mechanisms, will remain operational throughout the Yatra to coordinate healthcare services efficiently.
