IGP Kashmir calls for strong coordination, reviews Yatra security and Darbar Move arrangements.

Srinagar, Apr 23 (KB): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, V.K. Birdi on Thursday chaired a high-level coordination meeting with officers of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at Police Control Room Kashmir to review security and logistical arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, officials said.


The meeting witnessed participation from senior officers of BSF, CRPF, ITBP, along with range Deputy Inspectors General of Kashmir Zone, district SSsP, Traffic, CID, Armed Police, IRP, Railways Police, and representatives from Army, NDRF, SDRF and civil administration.


During the meeting, the IGP stressed the need for detailed planning and close coordination among all agencies, particularly focusing on route security, logistics management and preparedness to handle emergencies. He directed officers to strengthen joint mechanisms and maintain seamless communication to effectively respond to any situation.


Officials said that the overall preparedness for the annual pilgrimage was reviewed threadbare, with emphasis laid on inter-agency coordination and timely execution of plans.


The IGP also took stock of arrangements for the forthcoming Darbar Move, directing officers to ensure adequate security, smooth traffic regulation and hassle-free movement of personnel and official records during the relocation process.


Police reiterated its commitment to ensure a safe and peaceful conduct of the yatra and smooth execution of the Darbar Move, officials added.(KB)
