Rain alert across J&K; farmers advised to pause work till 19 April.

Today: Skies will remain mostly cloudy. There is a chance of rain or thunderstorms developing towards late afternoon or evening, with rainfall becoming more widespread and intense during the night across many parts of Kashmir.

18 April: Most areas of Jammu & Kashmir are likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall from the afternoon onwards, with North Kashmir expected to see more intense activity.

19 April: Widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across J&K, especially in Kashmir. Higher reaches may receive snowfall, including places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Doodhpathri. Moderate snowfall is also likely over high-altitude passes such as Sinthan Top, Margan Top, Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, and Peer Ki Gali.

Advisory:

• Farmers should avoid spraying and other field activities until 19 April due to unstable weather.
• Travel on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway (NH44) may face disruptions on 19 April—plan journeys carefully.

• Daytime temperatures are expected to drop noticeably during 18–19 April.
