Srinagar, April 27: Five persons sustained injuries in a road traffic accident involving two vehicles in Pampore area of south Kashmir on Monday evening, officials said.
According to reports, the accident took place after two vehicles collided with each other, resulting in injuries to multiple passengers. Soon after the incident, rescue teams along with locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Pampore for treatment.
Two injured persons—Afsha (22), wife of Mohd Abrar, a resident of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, and Madan Lal (49), son of Ganish, a resident of Ramnagar in Udhampur—were later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar by ambulance driver Shahmeem Ahmad of SDH Pampore.
Subsequently, three more injured persons identified as Bodraj (53), son of Kartar Chand from Jammu; Shilpa (42), wife of Ashish from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh; and Ashish (46), son of Anand from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, were also shifted and admitted to SMHS Hospital for advanced medical care.
Sources said that all five injured persons are currently under treatment and their condition is stated to be stable.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. (KB)
