Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four overground workers (OGWs), including a woman, for allegedly providing logistical support to terrorists in the city, officials reported.
According to a senior police officer, the arrests were carried out during a targeted late-night operation on Wednesday in the Hazratbal area of Srinagar. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police teams conducted searches which led to the detention of the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, and Shazia Mohammad, all residents of Hazratbal. Preliminary investigation suggests that they were actively assisting terrorist elements by providing logistical aid and support.
During the operation, police recovered a hand grenade, 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, four mobile phones, and a sum of cash from their possession. Officials stated that further investigation is underway to uncover their links and any wider network involved in such activities.
